18-year-old Vikena Greku who lost her life in the tragic accident at Dajlan Bridge

18-year-old Vikena Greku, who lost her life two days ago after a tragic accident on the Dajlan Bridge in Durres, had been living in Germany for several years with her parents Vullnet and Valbona Greku, as well as her younger brother.

Sources from the girl's close family state that the 18-year-old had returned to Albania to meet her grandparents.

After their parents fled to Germany years ago, Vikena and her younger brother Nevio had stayed with their grandparents in the village of Dyshnik in Berat, where they had continued their 9-year schooling, until their parents were able to get their children's papers ready to take them with them to Germany.

Vikena had not been back from Germany for years, and longing for her grandparents brought her back to her homeland. Today, the Greku family opened the doors of the morgue to bid farewell to their daughter, who was in the prime of her youth, amidst pain and tears.
