'CEZ-DIA' case in the Constitutional Court, former administrator

The CEZ-DIA case remains under development not only by SPAK. As one of the episodes that sent Ilir Meta under arrest, CEZ-DIA's accounts have also been opened in the Constitutional Court.

This court has decided to proceed to a plenary session and review, based on documents, a request by Kastriot Ismailaj, which seeks the annulment of all decisions that declared him guilty and sentenced him to 11 years in prison.

Ismailaj, the former administrator of DIA, a company that was supposed to collect CEZ's debts, is demanding that these decisions be declared unconstitutional, including the confiscation of $3.2 million and nearly 450,000 euros considered proceeds from money laundering in the country's largest fraud case.

The administrator was convicted by the court of the most serious charge of fraud with serious consequences.

But while Ismailaj was found guilty during a regular criminal trial, the Special Prosecution Office has also listed suspicions against Meta in this matter, who in his capacity as former Minister of Economy is alleged to have influenced the conclusion of the contract between DIA and CEZ Distribucija for the identification and collection of overdue debts.

SPAK says that during this time Meta has accepted favors from DIAS administrator Ismailaj, a version that is disputed by the former official. However, the fact remains that Kastriot Ismailaj has completed his sentence and is believed to have fled the country./ TCH
