Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has spoken about the failed meeting at the White House and what happened between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He called it a pre-prepared script and that the US should seek recognition from Kiev, but not in a humiliating and public way, as happened.
Spahiu also said that Trump had the same behavioral tactics even in his first term, where he humiliates friends and praises enemies.
"In the White House protocol, in 100% of cases, especially those related to conflicts and peace agreements, the procedure is closed. The moment of the handshake is filmed and the conversations continue behind the curtains, behind the scenes. But seeing from the beginning, from the handling of the dress, the descent, the interventions, the vice president, etc., it was a script prepared for a movie of American authority, Washington and the new sheriff who has come to town, to show the EU what strength the US has and to show Putin that this is what we are doing to Zelensky.
But the whole arrangement was ruined by Zelensky, who did not know what was cooked by the American arrangement. Zelensky can express gratitude to the US for the support it gave him, even with military support, as well as NATO, since it was thought that Ukraine would fall in 2-3 days. But they have no right to publicly humiliate Zelensky and the representative of Ukraine. It could be done behind closed doors, but public humiliation could not be done. Trump should demand gratitude from Zelensky, but not in that way , "Spahiu told "Report TV".
Spahiu also said that this tactic of Trump's is similar to his first term.
"It is in Trump's nature to mock and insult friends, as he has done with the Queen of England, Merkel, Macron, Scholz, etc. He has always praised Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un, so it is an internal feeling to behave in a humiliating manner with friends and praising with enemies, but it can also be a diplomatic tactic," he said.
