Journalist Artan Hoxha has revealed shocking details from the "Tempulli" operation, where hundreds of drug dealers were arrested and from the spread of narcotics consumption in Albania.
Invited to the show "Te Paespozuarit" on MCN TV, Hoxha explained that narcotics, even hard ones, have penetrated up to 9-year-old schools, a phenomenon inspired by the traffickers' motto "your children, our future".
"The last operations, the first one in Elbasan two months ago, where 5 groups of distributors, some 54 people, were caught overnight, and the last one, seems to give a synopsis of the situation Albania is in, especially regarding the use of narcotics. Suddenly, we found ourselves in front of a phenomenon that even professor Fuga feels surprised in France.
Of course, Albania, without making noise, has created an internal market little by little. The motto of traffickers in the world is, your children are our future. They aim to hit children, because they are the long-term investment for traffickers. He has a stable client, who is a shareholder of his enterprise.
The mistake that was made in Albania, we have allowed it to penetrate deeply, is not only at the door of the high school and universities, but also at the door of the 9-year school. It is enough to move around the neighborhood at dinner and the characteristic smell of cannabis use comes.
Today we are facing the phenomenon that we have created an internal market and it is creating very big problems. Starting from the family budget, to the way society will behave tomorrow.
Capturing the distribution network, or part of it, because you can capture 2,000 yourself and it doesn't destroy the network, because the next day you will have 2,000 more, which meets the needs for this product that has a large market. With some of the toxicologists, I saw that they couldn't handle it, the situation escalated, you see the emergencies at night that end there.
Today, cannabis is sold in pharmacy bags on the street. It goes up to 1.7 grams and is worth 10 thousand old lek, which is tempting.
Today, a kilogram of cannabis grown in natural environments costs 700-750 euros per kilogram. A kilogram of cannabis that is cultivated in the herb houses costs 1,800-2,000 euros per kilogram, because the concentration of THC is greater.
Today, a dose of cocaine, which has become scary due to the involvement of Albanians in the global arena, has led to the creation of the internal market. Before a dose of cocaine, 1 gram, the dose is now 0.6-0.7 maximum. The price varies from 30-40 thousand for half a dose. For one dose 60-70 thousand lek. A dose of cocaine in Tirana, which also contains mixtures, costs 60-70 thousand lek", declared Hoxha.
