Flames have engulfed the inert waste dump in Jallin i Narta, near the protected area in Vlora, today, alarming authorities and surrounding residents. The fire, which broke out in an area where plastic materials and car tires are illegally dumped, has immediately mobilized firefighting forces on the ground to stop its spread.
This outbreak is just one of 20 such outbreaks reported from 09:00 to 20:30 on June 30, 2025, according to official data from the National Civil Emergency Operations Center at AKMC. The outbreaks are spread over a wide geographical range, from Vau i Dejës to Lezhë, Fier, Kuçovë and Malësi e Madhe.
28 firefighting vehicles and 197 operational forces have been engaged in the operations to extinguish these fires. So far, all the fires have been reported extinguished, but the situation remains delicate and requires continuous monitoring. Civil Emergencies have confirmed that they are fully prepared to intervene at any moment in case of reactivation of any fire or new danger.
As summer has just begun, authorities are calling on citizens and operators to be aware of the high risk of fires, especially in rural, industrial or uncontrolled waste areas.
