The General Director of the State Archives, Ardit Bido, has reacted after the lawsuit brought against him by the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, who accuses him of defamation.
In his response, Bido states that he is not afraid to tell the academic truth, with scientific and fact-based references that lead to the source.

Actually, I am not the only one, there are some of us, but we are not many. It's time to understand why...
Others ask me: "Why are you talking now?" In fact, what you just saw, I have been saying for several years...
The pattern is that these secret funds are not used for non-secret reasons.

Who thinks he can intimidate me into telling the truth, especially the academic truth, that which has scientific references, that which is linked to facts, that which leads directly to the source and not to the words of analysts, and not to the words of the politics of the day, he is very wrong.'- says Bido.
Fredi Beleri was arrested in the premises of a bar in Himare, just 2 days before the local elections on May 14, after he was caught red-handed with his colleague Pandeli Kokaveshi buying votes. Beleri could not take office, as the judicial authorities did not give him permission to take the oath.
