The lawyer of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Genc Gjokutaj, has spoken about the continuation of the measure of "house arrest" against Berisha, saying that it is intentional. Gjokutaj said that the process against Berisha is part of the strategy for clearing the way for Edi Rama for the 2025 elections.
According to him, all the scenarios are in function of the goal of burning the mandate of Sali Berisha, as well as his final departure from politics and the next elections.
"We have to explain what happens. The process of attacking Berisha is part of the strategy for clearing the way for Edi Rama for the 2025 elections. But in order to realize this scenario with justice, it cannot be done with an objective SPAK and an independent GJKKO. People are handpicked. Today's decision was expected for us. The intention is to burn Berisha's mandate. They asked Berisha in the commission for TIMS and immediately withdrew him by political order. Moreover, the fable of the case has not been articulated by the prosecutors, who bribed whom. Every event has the mechanism of how it was acted. In the end, without carrying out any investigative action, they request an extension of the deadline. The extension takes place when you have used up every deadline and have not performed the necessary actions. They have asked for an extension without taking action. All these scenarios lead to one point, the burning of Berisha's mandate and his removal from politics and the next elections", he said in News 24.
