The oil price crisis is having a direct effect on the country's construction industry. Entrepreneur Zef Shtjefni states that the increase in fuel costs is significantly weighing on business activity.
In an interview with "Report TV", he emphasized that: "The consequences are being felt immediately. We have a 25% increase in costs in our industry, from materials to fuels."
According to him, the impact of oil on the cost structure is considerable: "In our country, the cost item that oil occupies is sixth place, after coke and labor, which have also increased."
Shtjefni warned that this situation will be directly reflected in the market: " It will immediately be reflected in prices. The increase in product prices will automatically increase prices."
He stressed that businesses have no choice but to adapt to new costs: "We are forced to move prices, otherwise we cannot survive."
Regarding the role of the state, the entrepreneur stated that intervention should only be done in cases of abuse: "The government should intervene only when it sees speculation. We have no tendency to speculate with our products."
The expert added that the situation is critical for producers: "Either we will move prices, or we will shut down factories. We are really in a fix."
According to Shtjefni, domestic producers are not benefiting from the situation: "I don't see domestic producers dealing with oil or energy speculating."
