The Albanian ambassador in Israel, Meri Kumbe, has given details about the Albanians who were trapped in Israel due to the closure of the airports after the Iranian attack.
A working group with officials from the Ministry of Tourism were in Israel with their families, where they participated in several activities.
The Albanian ambassador in Israel explained that everyone has left for Tirana, while there are already two representatives of the Chamber of Commerce in Israel, who are expected to leave for our country the next day.
"They left the country. This week in Israel has been full of international activity in the field of tourism and technology, the two representatives of the Chamber of Commerce are still in Israel. They are waiting for an announcement, they will return within the next day. The rest have left. The closing of the airports in the late hours of yesterday evening created a concern for those citizens who would have to travel. The airport was closed for about 7 hours. Today, work has started normally and the airport is returning to the usual schedule", Ambassador Kumbe told Report TV.
They were supposed to return on the 05:00 flight this morning, but because of the attack Israel closed the airspace, which has already started flights.
The ambassador said that at the request of their parents, 10 Albanian students have left Israel, while emphasizing that they are in contact all the time with the Albanian-Jewish community.
"There are two categories, the Albanian-Jewish community, they are all in Israel and in no case have they asked for our help. They have been living here for 30 years, they are healthy, we are in contact with them. The rest are 10 students who were able to go to Tirana with the decision of their parents. And the working groups have left, 2 people are currently here", said Kumbe.
Meanwhile, Albanian tourists who have been to Jordan have managed to leave. The ambassador said that this situation caused concern, but today the day is calm.
Some of the tourists who were in Jordan were able to leave today, after yesterday's attack blocked all the airports in the region. The whole situation created a kind of concern, today has been quiet. Citizens have gone to work, everything works like a normal day.
Since October 2023, the ambassador said that 330 people have been evacuated from Israel to Albania
"Since October 2023, 330 people fled from Israel to Albania. We have a system set up, we are part of a communication chain that was immediately activated yesterday and we have been working all night until the attack is over. The process for the citizens has been complicated because they panic", concluded the ambassador.
