According to the sources of the journalist Anila Hoxha, it was discovered that the owner of this account is the citizen Florian Gjergji, who is currently under investigation and several arrest warrants have been issued to him for the same fraudulent scheme.
The businessman, according to the fraudster's request, came to Tirana with a bag of 100,000 euros and handed it over to a taxi driver.
"I took note of the taxi license plates," the businessman told the police.
The prosecution of Elbasan identified the taxi driver, who stated "I was a taxi driver, I came to Tirana from Lezha and took the bag from Flamur Rrushi. I asked him first if it is dangerous and he said no. When I gave him the bag, he gave me 100 euros," said the taxi driver, who was released.
But this is not the first time that Florian Gjergji uses this scheme to deceive and extort money.
A year ago, he wrote to a businessman through the "Telegram" application, introducing himself as the mayor of Vlora, Ermal Dredha.
"I am Ermal Dredha and I need 35,000 euros", he wrote, also making an appointment at a shopping center.
Journalist Anila Hoxha reported a year ago that Florian Gjergji, who is suspected to be the organizer of this fraud scheme, had told two of his associates to go to the shopping center, meet the businessman and tell him "we have come to get the package" .
But they were not aware of the fact that their "prey" had notified the police. Upon arriving at the mall, the police caught them red-handed and handcuffed them.
The arrested were Afrim Radici, Gezim Çelanji and Qazim Vata, while Gjergji was on the run.
In 4 different operations of Unit "E" in the State Police, 11 people were arrested for these crimes, most of whom had secondary roles in the fraud.
In the first operation coded under the name "Signal", Jasmin Pepaj, Rezart Pepaj and Sherif Kadrovic were captured.
The three young people from Shkodra tried to deceive the construction businessman Pëllumb Salillari by asking him for 130 thousand euros through a message where they introduced themselves as "Edi".
First, 39-year-old Florian Gjergji sends a message to the "host". With different businessmen he uses different communication tactics.
In the case of the attempt to deceive the owner of "Everest", Florian Gjergji, through a communication application with a number with a prefix of Great Britain, presented himself as a tax official.
When he tried to deceive the owner of a casino, he presented himself in the name of the former head of the Cadastre, Artan Lame, while in the last case for the businessman Ramë Geci, he presented himself as the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
For communication with entrepreneurs, applications are used that are accessed via the Internet, such as Telegram or Signal, where VPN platforms that mask the location of the fraudster are used to open them.
Even though he is the sender of the messages and their creator, Florian Gjergji does not act alone in the field to carry out the mission.
In the last case where he tried to deceive Ram Geci, after Florian Gjergji had introduced himself as Erion Veliaj and that he needed 100 thousand euros, Bedri and Albert Vodha agreed to go and get the money to send to Germany.
Entrepreneur Geci quickly realized the fraudsters' scheme and notified the police.
Geci passed the communication on to the police agents who requested the reduction of the amount to 70 thousand euros and made a meeting in the center of Tirana, where the father and son were handcuffed.
Although a total of 8 associates of Florian Gjergji have already been arrested, the person considered to be the brain of the group has not been caught.
These are the proven cases of his fraud, but he is suspected of having made other attempts as well, deceiving in the name of the mayor of Laçi, or the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi.
