Social networks and online platforms have become problematic, where phenomena such as threats and blackmail have appeared and increased.
The head of the Cybercrime Investigation sector in Tirana, Klodian Bilushi, said that there are many arrested from these phenomena.
"We would define online blackmail and stalking as a certain group, that by logging in with fake profiles, we communicate with the injured person by asking for their photos or videos. We have had many cases, that this sector has been created and many people have been arrested, and we continue to raise awareness about this phenomenon. We have not had cases of extremist calls, we are talking about terrorism, but these phenomena can be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week," he said.
Asked where the groups operate, which distribute violent material, often with pornographic content where the protagonists are minors, Bilushi said that the most used platform is 'Telegram'.
"In Telegram, who through each other are posting material, which they receive through other portals, that their material is not authentic. There is material and pornography with minors and it is being rigorously pursued by us. There will be results very soon for these groups and there will be arrests", he emphasized, adding that there will be arrests for these groups, which incite violence and spread materials with blackmail content: "There will be arrests of people who administer these groups and who are members of these groups. According to our information, these persons are inside and outside the Albanian territory", he said.
During the discussion in the studio, Bilushi said that many applications in the world of technology should be banned for teenagers, as according to him they encourage violence.
He added that Albania's legislation to combat these phenomena is good, but he added that updates should be made in response to the development of technology.
"Some of the applications that exist in the world of technology should be prohibited for use by minors, but this is an objective that is not fulfilled by us alone, but requires a consensus and cooperation with the families of minors. The current legislation we have is sufficient, but we are working on improving it and moving along with the evolution of technology", he said.
