SPAK has not received any request from the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, to participate in the Municipal Council meeting.
"In response to your request received on 22.9.2025, we inform you that so far, no such request has been submitted to the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime," SPAK's response to Klan News states.
Earlier, the General Directorate of Prisons had also confirmed that no request for special permission had been submitted, which would allow Veliaj to attend the meeting.
According to legal procedures, for persons in detention, it is the prosecutor of the case who gives the initial approval for movement outside the institution.
The City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 23, at 4:00 p.m.
