The High Court has rejected the request of Ajola Xoxa, the wife of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, to retrieve the phone and other items seized by SPAK. These materials are part of an ongoing investigation into the assets of Veliaj and his family.
The searches were carried out on the morning of December 6 by BKH officers, who seized Ajola Xoxa's phone in the couple's apartment. The raids were then extended to the apartment of Veliaj's brother, Arbër Veliaj, as well as the premises of the "Harabel" gallery, owned by Xoxa. Documents and other materials considered important for the investigation were also seized during these operations.
The Veliaj family's lawyers opposed the seizure, claiming that some of the seized documents were not mentioned in the initial SPAK order. However, the Supreme Court decided not to accept the request for the return of the items, considering the authorities' action legal. Investigations into the assets and financial connections of senior officials continue.
