This year, for the first time, the "Parade of Albania" took place in our capital for the 111th anniversary of Albania's independence. Historian Erald Kapri described the concerts organized by the municipalities for the Independence Day as hypocritical, as according to him Albanians need reflection rather than celebration as we continue to be the poorest in Europe.
Kapri said that Kurti's sudden arrival in Vlora for Independence Day is for protagonism and hypocrisy that resembles a "fake" patriotism.
"As far as I understood, Kurti simply implemented the protocol in respect of today's day, which is also debatable whether it is true or a bit hypocritical, apparently Kurti also does politics. He returned to the center of attention and came to Vlora alongside Rama as Kurti enjoys the media attention as he did in the stadium. It came unexpectedly, I announced the day before that I will be in Tirana on November 28. These kinds of parties with some protocols and concerts are so hypocritical that they resemble a 'fake' patriotism that only serves the politics of the moment. By themselves they do not serve anything else, we need to reflect more than to celebrate. 111 years ago they were the most insignificant and poor country in Europe and we continue to be," he said in Euronews.
