The race for the head of the BKH enters the final phase...
The interview phase in the selection process for the new director of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) has been completed.
Following the polygraph test conducted on July 24 and 25, today the 7 candidates underwent interviews. They started at 09:00 at the SPAK premises and lasted 45 minutes for each candidate.
The Selection Committee, assisted by international representatives, assessed the candidates' professional knowledge, leadership skills, and approach to the challenges posed by leading an institution specialized in investigating corruption and organized crime.
The candidates in the race are: Andi Pogaçe, Artur Beu, Elton Kërluku, Gentian Ndoi, Gentjan Shehaj, Gledis Nano and Joni Keta.
In conclusion, it was decided that all seven candidates would proceed to the final phase, that of background verification and asset control, in accordance with Article 6 of Law No. 95/2016, which regulates the organization and functioning of institutions against corruption and organized crime.
“ Further background checks will be carried out by the Special Commission for Verification of the Assets and Profile of Candidates, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 6 and 57 of Law No. 95/2016. The Special Commission for Verification of the Assets and Profile of Candidates will submit, within a period of 120 days, a detailed report on the legality of the sources of wealth and the cleanliness of the candidates’ profile. This report will be part of the evaluation of the candidates by the Selection Commission. At the end of the candidate evaluation process, the Selection Commission determines the best candidate. Based on Article 32/2 of Law No. 95/2016, the selected candidate undergoes a training program. After completing the training program, the Selection Commission sends the name of the selected candidate for the position of Director of the BKH, for approval to the High Prosecutorial Council ,” the regulation states.
The commission that will determine the new leader consists of Altin Dumani, Arben Kraja and Behar Dibra. There are rumors that there is a clash between them, but we will have to see who they will ultimately decide on.
