German police officer meets in Tirana...
German and Albanian authorities are expected to join forces in the fight against crime. In recent weeks, we have seen several operations by SPAK and the police, where criminal groups ordered from Italy, Finland, etc. have been hit. However, there have also been concerns from the Germans, as Albanian criminal groups no longer recognize borders.
The Vice President of the Federal Criminal Police of Germany, Martina Link, has arrived in Tirana and has had meetings with the heads of the police and SPAK. During her visit to the Special Prosecution Office, she met with Altin Duman.
“ The Head of the Special Prosecution, Mr. Altin Dumani, welcomed the Vice President of the Federal Criminal Police of Germany, Ms. Martina Link. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation against organized crime, with a focus on the fight against drug trafficking. Mr. Dumani emphasized the importance of real-time mutual assistance and SPAK’s commitment to intensifying cooperation, especially in the seizure and confiscation of assets of criminal origin. Ms. Link praised the joint investigation teams as a model of success in cooperation between SPAK and German law enforcement authorities ,” SPAK announced.
Meanwhile, she previously met with Police Chief Ilir Proda. The focus with him was also on cracking down on trafficking, investigations into assets derived from criminal activity, and cybercrimes.
" Our partnership is based on trust, commitment and transparency. We fight organized crime only with strong international alliances ," said Proda.
" The ORKA project is a model of success. BKA will continue its support and intensify cooperation ," said Link.
