Journalist Anila Hoxha has given details about an international investigation, which is led by the Independent Public Prosecution Office of the EU, with the cooperation of SPAK, as well as other teams in several countries, with over 600 investigators involved.
Hoxha informs that the investigation is related to a case of fiscal evasion that has caused great economic damage to several states.
She informs that this is considered one of the most important investigations where SPAK is part of joint investigative teams with EU countries
"But with the difference that this time the investigation is led by the Independent Public Prosecution Office of the EU, which is responsible for any financial crime", she added.
According to the journalist, Albania has been involved in 5 checks and questioning of some suspected citizens in this investigation that involved 17 countries and which allegedly caused 195 million euros to some countries.
The case starts after the pandemic, where a company based in Hong Kong appears to be committing tax evasion, with the sale and purchase of masks.
"There were individuals involved here in Albania or newly created companies that were involved in this fraud scheme. There are no arrestees from Albania, but there are only escorts and controlled premises. The control in the premises included a company for which no data is given, but it is suspected that it has made online orders for these sales", explained the journalist.
