
Tirana has 758,513 inhabitants, of which 48.4% are men and 51.6% are women. The results of CENSIT 2023 have highlighted that 51.2% of the population are married.
The capital continues to welcome citizens from other cities of the country, especially from the coastal ones. The data show that 52.9% of the residents are people born in Tirana, while the Dibrans and Kuksians are second on the list.
The majority of the population living in the country's capital originates from Dibre and Kukësi. About 8.6% of the inhabitants originate from Dibra, or in absolute terms about 63 thousand are registered. Meanwhile, residents originating from Kukës occupy a share of 6.5%, or about 48 thousand. Korça is the third with the highest share of 5.2%, followed by Fieri, Berat and Elbasan.
On the other hand, the inhabitants of Tirana whose birthplace is Lezha have the lowest share with 1.9%, or about 14 thousand inhabitants./ Euronewsalbania
