The Court of Special Appeal upheld the seizure of the assets of persons associated with what is known as the "Drug Baron", Gëzim Çela.
At the beginning of this month, SPAK has seized numerous assets, from apartments worth 400 thousand euros, luxury cars, as well as large sums of money that are suspected to have been obtained from the proceeds of drug trafficking, from members of the boss's gang. of drugs, Gëzim Çela.
1 store and 2 apartments worth over 400,000 euros were seized in the name of Miranda Thardori, Çela's ex-wife, as well as the assets of Naim Çela's brother.
1. Property of the type "Commercial Unit", with an area of 237 m2, owned by citizen Miranda Thardori, located in Tirana, with a sale price of 321,120 Euros (according to the order contract dated 18.02.2008);
2. "Apartment" property, with an area of 74 m2, owned by citizen Miranda Thardori, located in Tirana, with a sale price of 42,200 Euros;
3. Property of the "Apartment" type, with a total area of 77.2 m2, owned by citizen Miranda Thardori, located in Tirana, with a sale price of 40,000 Euros;
4. BMW X3 3.0D vehicle, owned by citizen Naim Çela;
5. Van vehicle of the Mercedes Benz brand, Type 639, Model Vito 109 CDI, owned by the subject Naim Çela;
6. The monetary amount in total of 4 576 585 Lek, in the bank accounts of citizen Naim Çela;
7. The monetary amount in total of 57,219 Euros, namely in the bank account of the citizen Naim Çela and the seized CASH of the citizen Gëzim Naim Çela;
8. Subject "X……." sh.pk, with administrator and sole partner citizen G.Gj, all its assets, such as real estate, movable property, bank accounts, etc., including movable property, vehicles as follows:
· Volkswagen Golf, 2015 production;
· BMW, 2011 production;
· Volkswagen, 2006 production;
· Audi, 2007 production;
· BMW, 2004 production;
· Fiat "Doblo", produced in 2014;
· Mercedes Benz, 2010 production;
· Daimler Chrysler, 2007 production;
· Volkswagen Golf, 2009 production;
· Volkswagen Golf Tdi, 2016 production
Çela was handcuffed in December last year in Kosovo, where the drug trafficker had found refuge, while in Albania he was declared wanted in August of this year after he could not be handcuffed during the "Flame at Sea" operation.
The police discovered that Gëzim Çela and his group, assisted by the chief of the Kurbini police station, Dritan Metaj, trafficked cannabis from the Fushë Kuqe area towards the Adriatic Sea, where he exchanged the cannabis for cocaine in a boat.
The name of Gëzim Çela is among the first mentioned as a drug trafficker in Albania, since he started this activity in the 90s. Once a former police officer, he became the main contact for the distribution of heroin in the country, as well as the author of dozens of kilograms of cocaine in Kosovo.
