The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has signed 5 memoranda of understanding with the prosecutors' offices of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay.

This comes in the context of a high-level meeting held on December 2–3 at EUROJUST headquarters in The Hague.

According to an official announcement, the head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, and the special prosecutor, Dorina Bejko, participated on December 2-3 in the high-level meeting of prosecutors from 4 Western Balkan countries and 11 Latin American countries, held at the EUROJUST headquarters in The Hague.

During his speech, Dumani emphasized the importance of fruitful cooperation with partner agencies and the rapid exchange of information.

"SPAK has gone from an agency that mainly received information, to an institution that supplies international partners with verified and operational data, transforming into a true contributor to security," said Dumani.

Within the framework of this meeting, Dumani held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador.

SPAK also signed five memoranda of understanding with the prosecutors' offices of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay. The purpose of these bilateral agreements and meetings is to strengthen cooperation in the fight against organized crime, especially drug trafficking.

These activities took place within the framework of a wider three-day event, the largest ever organised by EUROJUST, with third country partners, which included, in addition to the European Union, the Western Balkans and Latin America, also those from the Middle East and North Africa. The focus of this event was to strengthen operational cooperation between these regions and the European Union.
