One of the most profitable businesses in Tirana is parking. Due to the high traffic of cars, finding a parking space is quite difficult and many individuals have taken advantage of the support of the authorities to occupy public spaces and turn them into parking spaces. This phenomenon occurs in every corner of Tirana, but today we will deal with a special case.
A complaint has been received at the address of "Pamphlet" from the residents of Unit no. 2 in Tirana, who denounce the fact that the entire public space around the building at the intersection of "Zonja Curre" and "Petro Nini Luarasi" streets (former Tregu Eletrik) has been occupied, to be turned into a car park.
A group of "strong" individuals claim ownership of that area and have occupied the public space, the sidewalk and everything else, turning it into a parking lot. Although residents have complained to the Municipality and other responsible authorities, no one takes action.
In addition to occupying public space, there is 24-hour noise pollution and insecurity in that space, which should be shared.
Even though Municipal Police officers show up there from time to time, no one takes action, as it seems the market is closed with "those above."
