Greece continues to attack Albanian justice regarding the case of Fredi Beleri. The Special Court today refused his release and this has irritated Athens. The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement distributed to the media states that it contradicts the laws of European law. The ministry even gives ultimatums for his release.

" Today's decision of the Albanian court, which three months after his arrest and imprisonment, dismisses the request for release of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, and prevents his swearing in as its elected mayor, the presumption of innocence and respect for political rights of all citizens. It is in direct opposition to the laws of European law, which the Albanian authorities must strictly respect ", says the Greek Foreign Ministry.

Fredi Beleri was arrested on the eve of local elections for buying votes. It was filmed and the prosecution has closed the evidence file. He pursued all levels of the judiciary, but was denied freedom. But Greece has only been exerting pressure for 3 months. Whenever Beleri has issues, they go on the attack. The court has so far not fallen prey to pressures, correctly applying the law.
