According to the journalist, she is giving the message to immigrants that if they go to Italy, they will not be able to go to Europe, for which they are leaving, but will go to Albania.
"It is true that Italy and all of Europe is in an election campaign for the European Parliament. Meloni's favorite topic, for years in the opposition and now two years in government, has been the fight against immigration. Italy is left alone in facing this migratory phenomenon from Africa to Europe. Italy every year has over 200,000 African immigrants who are at the borders of its territory and enter illegally, and according to the Dublin agreement, immigrants have the right to apply for asylum in every country they enter.
Meloni found this mechanism with the Albanian government, a mechanism of demotivation, telling the immigrants "Don't come to Italy because we are not taking you to Europe, but we will take you to Albania". She sells this as a good thing for the Italian people. Here, the decision of the Constitutional Court has opened another door, as it has made the Albanian government co-responsible for the camps set up in Gjadër", said Lavdrim Lita.
