The former socialist mayor of Fushë Arrëzi, Fran Tuci, who was in Reçi detention in Shkodër, has been transferred to the prison hospital due to health problems.
Tuci and the former administrator of the Iballe administrative unit, Ndoc Marku, are accused of giving permission for a road in a deep village of this unit, while they are accused of abuse of office and destruction of property.
The estimates of the Inspectorate of the Protection of the Territory speak of a damage of more than 2 million euros, caused by the damage to the terrain and the deforestation of the surface from which the privately opened road has benefited.
The special prosecution has explained that from the investigations "it has been proven that the former mayor of the Fushë Arrëz Municipality, in cooperation with the former Administrator of the Administrative Unit Iballe, with actions and omissions contrary to the law, which constitute a regular failure to fulfill the duty , bringing at the same time a serious material consequence for the state, have allowed the opening of a new rural auto road segment, previously disapproved by the competent authorities".
Also, the Prosecutor's Office informs that the private company "operating in the field with heavy equipment, without having any permission from the competent authorities, has caused the destruction of property, carrying out excavations in a significant volume and at the same time deforesting the forest fund owned by the Municipality Field- Walnut". The former mayor, Tuci, led the local government in Fushë Arrëz for two terms, as elected by the socialist party, from 2015 until a few months ago.
