SPAK has closed the investigations for the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako and the other 10 defendants.
The file has been sent to the GJKKO with the request to proceed to trial, as Dako is accused of abuse of office in two cases.
11 people have been charged while only one has been requested by the prosecution to dismiss the case and it is about Meri Semini.
Vangjush Dako was arrested on June 6 by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office with suspicions that he abused his duty in two cases. The first concerns the granting of permission for the construction of a building in Durrës in violation of the law, and the other issue with the tender for the coastal development project, which increased its value 10-fold.
A total of 11 arrest warrants were issued together with Dako, 7 of which with prison arrest and 3 under house arrest. On Monday, GJKKO, after considering the request of the builder of the building that was damaged by the earthquake of November 2019, Fiqiri Farruku, to relax the security measure, decided to move him from arrest to prison to house arrest.
