The Socialist Party convenes the Electoral Congress on Sunday. After two postponements, at 11:00 the next day I will find the congress of the Socialist Party gathered in Tirana.
Despite the fact that the SP has not published an agenda, the new Assembly is expected to be voted on the next day, where Rama has requested that they be young and filter the two employees or directors who have positions in the party and administration.
The Assembly of the SP has 350 members, but the Congress will choose only 156 of them, since the other members are automatically due to the function (the Speakers of the Assembly, deputies, ministers, mayors).
The speech of the head of the socialist Edi Rama is also awaited with interest on what objectives he will set for the SP for the 2025 parliaments. Immediately after the speeches, the voting process for the new members of the assembly will begin, which will have the election of the secretariat as a primary issue. new members of the SP, all dismissed by Rama, from July 2023.
The congress is expected to have two panels where good governance, anti-corruption, and tourism will be discussed. As if an analysis will be made of what the socialist government, which is in power through a third governing mandate, has achieved in these three years.
It remains to be seen if during the speech at the congress Edi Rama will prefer to say the name of the successor of Lindita Nikolla, who for health reasons resigned on Friday from the leadership of the Parliament of Albania.
If this will not happen in the congress, then shortly before the start of the autumn parliamentary session, the name of the new speaker of the assembly will be announced.
