Swimmer Eva Buzo has spoken about leaving in the middle of the challenge to describe the channel of Otranto by swimming.
Heading from Italy to Vlora, Buzo had health problems 27 hours after being in the water. She was taken to the hospital where, after receiving medical help, she appeared at a press conference and narrated her entire journey.
" I started swimming slowly in the sea and when the evening fell I would be able to swim faster, but this did not happen because a jellyfish hit me on the arm and this slowed down my swimming pace, as well as the wind or the ships that floated there affected the fast pace of swimming. When I started to swim during dinner, a thick fog fell, and it also had its effect on breathing, and all this made me not finish the race ", said Eva at the conference.
Meanwhile, Eva's coach says that she did her best by giving 100% of her opportunities.
" In the last 10 km I wanted to push him to finish the challenge, but thanks to Eva and we are grateful for what she did ", he said.
Eva confessed that she took the initiative in honor of her grandfather who had sailed in Albania before immigrating to Australia.
