The fire at the Bushati landfill continues to remain active today, while the flames have reactivated again, favored by the wind, despite interventions so far.
While firefighters continue their efforts to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further, the situation in the area remains concerning for residents. The thick smoke and air pollution are directly affecting their health and daily lives.
Residents say conditions have deteriorated significantly and that living in the area has become difficult. One of them, who suffers from asthma, speaks of the serious difficulties he is experiencing.
"We are in trouble. We can't breathe, I have asthma. My children have run away from here. Our water is running out. Because of the landfill, we can't live here anymore," said the resident.
Other residents also raise concerns about the situation, highlighting the lack of information and solutions.
"We can't breathe, we're really sick. It's carbon. We're inhaling the waste. We don't even know where to complain about this. It's the first time they've burned it. They're inventing diseases for us," said another resident.
They are calling for faster intervention and long-term solutions, while the situation remains critical in the area.
