Hundreds of citizens have gathered in front of Tirana City Hall holding the next protest. As Mayor Veliaj just left SPAK, citizens threw smoke bombs and molotov cocktails in the direction of the building.
The protest was decided to be held this afternoon because the meeting of the municipal council was scheduled at 16:00. But it was not held physically, but passed online.
" Dear members of the Municipal Council. The Presidency of the Municipal Council held an online meeting today, April 30, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., with the majority of members present ," the announcement states.
Meanwhile, the advisor for Economic Affairs in DP Dorian Teliti, emphasized that holding the online meeting by municipal councilors is impermissible. According to him, no one can stop free speech and the spirit of opposition.

Meanwhile, the State Police has called on the organizers of the Re-establishment Alliance for the Protection of the Theater to distance themselves from violence, this call comes after previous cases.

Violating the order of public safety and endangering the health and lives of police officers and participants in the rally constitute a violation of the law and the State Police will always act professionally, " the police announcement states.
