Journalist Andi Tela spoke about the arrests of several police officials and managers of employment agencies by SPAK, who were involved in the smuggling of people from Eastern countries.
Tela said in the show on MCN TV that this way of trafficking started after employment agencies invited foreign workers to work in Albania and they came, but only stayed for a few weeks to flee to EU countries, for which they have paid up to 5000 euros.
"Albanians are leaving the country and the prime minister and the socialist government called on businesses to hire workers from Bangladesh. They began to search from those places. Agencies were set up and they prepared a list of 100 workers who came here regularly with a D-type residence permit. Businessmen then began to complain that the workers stayed for a month and left.
SPAK's investigation of immigrants from Bangladesh revealed that they had paid 5,000 euros to come here, and within that was the possibility of going to EU countries as well ," said Tela.
