The head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Altin Dumani, was asked during his report to the Assembly, regarding the event a few days ago in front of the premises of SPAK, where 63-year-old Pal Treshaj ended his life by consuming phostoxin.
Dumani stated that Pal Treshaj had filed a complaint some time ago, but the case was forwarded to a General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office.
The head of SPAK has informed that the 63-year-old has asked SPAK to meet with the investigator, who was engaged in another investigative action.
Among others, Dumani showed that he received the information from the duty officer that the citizen did not request a meeting with the head of SPAK, but with an investigator.
" It is an event that I experienced badly as a citizen and a prosecutor, we also made a press release. The citizen made a report some time ago, which was forwarded to the General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office as it was not within our competence.
That day he came to the police station and requested a meeting with the investigator who had contacted him when he made the report. The investigator was engaged in another investigative action. I received the information from the police that he did not request a meeting with the director, despite the fact that I was outside Albania, but the institution always has a different director. And the designated leader has not been asked to meet.
Very painful event and we experienced it badly. But, we are encountering a phenomenon as SPAK, because citizens have increased their expectations of us, they often send letters and reports to SPAK, which in most cases are not within our competence ", Dumani said.
