Vangjush Dako and Alqi Blako have returned to Durrës Prison.
On December 19, by order of the General Directorate of Prisons, VIP prisoners, such as Vangjush Dako, Alqi Blako, Lefter Koka, Fredi Beleri, Lefter Alla and Safet Gjici, were transferred from Durrës prison to Fier prison.
This decision was taken due to recent developments in the High Security prison in Peqin, where Sokol Mjacaj executed Arben Lleshi.
The Durrës detention center had gathered the accused VIPs, as the same institution houses former mayors, former ministers and former deputies.

The former mayor of Kukes, Safet Gjici, is arrested. A scandalous video published while he had intimate relations with a woman inside the office forced Gjici to resign and within a few hours he was dismissed by government decision. Gjic's arrest was made a few days later for passive corruption, as in the video he is shown offering financial support to the woman in question on a project to shelter and care for stray dogs in the city.

Vangjush Dako, the former mayor of Durrës was arrested under the charge of abuse of office in 2 cases. The first case concerns the granting of a construction permit in 2011 for a building, in neighborhood no. 5, in the center of Durrës, which was damaged by the 2019 earthquake. After verification, it is suspected that the building had 4 floors without permission and the legalization of the building was carried out in violation of the law. The second case has to do with a report for the tender of the promenade, which according to the High State Control, the damage was calculated at 18 million ALL.

Llalla is suspected of favoring two companies during the public procurement procedure in order to then carry out the works for the water pipeline to the company 'OE 2AF Albania shpk', which is under the administration of Alla's relative, Aqif Konesha. The companies that won the tender were 'BOE Egland shpk' and 'BE-IS shpk'.
