The tributes in the Parliament in honor of former MP Gerti Bogdani, who passed away yesterday (September 18), have ended.
The ceremony of giving the last farewell to the former democratic deputy was organized in the Parliament of Albania. Arkmort with his dead body arrived at the Assembly at around 10:00.
Family members, friends, colleagues and politicians from both political sides bid their last farewell to the late former politician.
After the end of the tributes, around 12:50, Gerti Bogdani was escorted to the last residence, in the Sharra cemetery.
The parliamentary session that was scheduled to start on Thursday at 10:00 has been postponed to 17:00.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party announced that in honor of Gert Bogdan, it has declared Thursday a day of mourning and therefore suspended all party activities throughout the country.
" In honor of the figure of former deputy Gert Bogdani, the Democratic Party has announced a day of mourning on Thursday, September 19, 2024. All activities of the Democratic Party on September 18 and 19 throughout the territory will be canceled. In all the headquarters of the Democratic Party, the national flag and the DP flag will be lowered to half-mast and at 12:00 a minute of silence will be observed in all the headquarters of the Democratic Party" , says the official announcement of the DP.
Bogdani died at the age of 44 after a cardiac arrest.
