The arrests of officials and former police officials have shocked the public opinion and the authorities regarding known persons with public positions who have cooperated with criminal groups.
Journalist Sokol Dema spoke about the wiretapping that shocked the police, as he stated that currently around 70 police officers are under investigation by SPAK after they were caught in the wiretapping of 'sky' applications where they are suspected to have communicated within the framework of cooperation with criminal groups.
The journalist also added that among the names being investigated are former police chiefs who have resigned and left for fear that they may be under investigation.
"It is an ongoing investigation into the beating of police chiefs who were inside the 'sky' application. It's not just eavesdropping. SPAK has submitted several letters of order and they have perfectly matched the conversations that have been revealed in SPAK. In total, there are at least 70 police officers being investigated by SPAK. Moments of arrests will come from time to time, they are at high management levels. The names of the police leaders appeared in the sky. Even of the general directorate. To my knowledge, there are levels of bosses who have resigned and left. They have even been replaced", said the Report Tv journalist.
While the lawyer Shkëlqim Hajdari said that there should be a ruthless operation to hit police officers who cooperate with criminal groups and then confiscate their illegally acquired assets
"We must do a ruthless surgical operation down to the cell. This is a very big challenge for the Albanian police, that this information that came to us about people who have confused the uniform of the police with that of criminal groups, at least get out of the system. At the very most, all of their ill-gotten wealth should be sought. Let's see how the cooperation was, that it is tribal, the politician, the criminal, the police officer cooperate. We are in a very big challenge for the Albanian society. SPAK is providing evidence that it is not a structure that is politically influenced", said the lawyer.
