Journalist Ilir Demaliaj has reacted to the incident yesterday in a hotel lobby, where he physically attacked Kujtim Gjuzi.
The footage has gone viral and it appears that Demaliaj attempts to punch the former MP. Demaliaj seems to have regretted that scene.
" It's not a video to be proud of. He wrote some statuses on his Facebook account, I didn't respond because I didn't have to. I saw him there by chance, he said 'sit here', I said 'should I sit with you since you didn't leave anything unwritten?' The conversation got heated, now I don't want to discuss it anymore.
"I regret why I put myself in that position. I am against violence, it was no good, we no longer had communication. I received many phone calls afterwards, he wrote to me, but I want to end that conversation ," he said.
Gjuzi also reacted, providing details about the fight.
" I was with the head of the Tropoja branch, Sanije Hajdarmataj, we were discussing at our table. Demaliaj entered the lobby and started insulting and cursing, with men's words that are not said in front of a woman.
He started insulting me, I told him I was in a cafe with people... he attacked me, but I backed away because I didn't want to get hit. The mayor came out in front, he didn't stop, then I ran into the lobby, the bodyguards of Hotel Tirana intervened and everything died down. It was an attempt to punch and attack, but I remained calm ," Gjuzi told the media.
