The Librazhd-Qafë Thanë axis continues to remain blocked since 11 am after landslides and rocks completely stopped vehicle traffic.
Following the worsening situation on this road, the intervention of the road crews has begun to unblock traffic. In the published footage, the road crews are seen throwing stones and dirt on the side of the road and into the river next to it.
The rockfall occurred in the area called Dragostunjë and as a result the road was closed in both directions, causing 10 kilometers of traffic in both directions.
The Elbasan Traffic Police appeals to everyone who wants to travel towards Korça and vice versa to avoid moving until a second announcement regarding the opening of the road.
"Traffic Police Services are in this area and are cooperating with the road maintenance contractor to clear the road as quickly as possible in order to resume vehicle movement," the police announced.
Residents of the area criticize the negligence of the company that maintains the axis and warn that the situation could continue for many hours.
The Democratic Party MP for the Korça region, Ledina Alolli, has also reacted to the situation.
Through a Facebook post, where he also published the footage, Alolli says that one of the most vital arteries of the Southeast has been paralyzed by irresponsibility and corruption.
"Millions of euros of concrete, zero security, zero responsibility," writes the Democratic MP./ Pamphlet
