Shkruar nga PamfletiThe Librazhd-Qafë Thanë road is blocked in both directions. The cause is a landslide of soil and rocks from the mountain in a place called Dragostunjë.
Since 11:00 am, traffic on the Librazhd-Prrenjas national road has been completely blocked, causing chaos and long lines of vehicles in both directions. The cause of the serious situation has been massive landslides of rocks, with tens and hundreds of cubic meters, that have fallen onto the road in the area known as "Dragostunja Bends".
The situation is alarming, as large rock masses have completely occupied the road segment, making it impossible for vehicles to pass and seriously endangering the safety of drivers. Hundreds of citizens have been left stranded on one of the most important national arteries that connects Librazhd with Southeast Albania.
There are additional Traffic Police forces on the ground, which are monitoring the situation and trying to manage traffic, but without any concrete solution, due to the lack of funds from the companies that maintain this segment, as well as the lack of technical interventions to remove the rock masses.
Citizens are requesting urgent intervention from the responsible institutions, as in addition to blocking traffic, there is a real risk of serious accidents if the landslides continue or if vehicles attempt to pass in unsafe conditions.
Meanwhile, blue uniforms are calling on citizens who want to go towards Korça or vice versa to avoid moving until a second announcement regarding the opening of the road.
"Traffic Police Services are in this area and are cooperating with the road maintenance contractor to clear the road as quickly as possible in order to resume vehicle movement," the police announced.
