The People's Advocate has reacted regarding yesterday's protest by the opposition. This institution had four monitoring groups on the ground, while after the end of the protest, it also monitored the police stations.
The institution of the people's advocate reacted by saying that despite the fact that the climate of the protest was calm, 11 people were escorted to the police.
The announcement also states that one of these people claims to have been raped by the police.
The People's Advocate says that this citizen had visible signs of injury to his face, swelling and bruises in his left eye.
"From the monitoring carried out at the police station, it was found that until 22:00 there were 11 people escorted, only in Police Station No. 1, all adults, while there were no people escorted in the other police stations.
Among those escorted, one of these citizens claims to have been raped during this protest by civilian policemen, at the time of the arrest.
Citizen AM had visible signs of injury on his face, swelling and bruises on his left eye, and the People's Advocate received a complaint which will be dealt with in the following.
The People's Advocate emphasizes that the right to peaceful protest is an essential right, recognized and guaranteed by the Constitution", it is stated in the announcement of this institution.
