Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has commented on Ilir Meta's call for protests in front of SPAK. Spahiu said that no more than 50 or 100 people will respond to this request.
Spahiu stated that Meta cannot even be called an opposition leader, since according to him only two MPs are left and even Monika Kryemadhi is gone. He points out that if you don't have the support for people to come, then it has the opposite effect.
The lawyer says that in Albania resignation is called weakness, while in the West it is the most powerful act.
"Protest is a legal tool, everyone has the right to protest. I think that the evil does not come from the protests. I think that the protests did not help Berisha in the matter. On the contrary, they have the opposite effect. If you don't have the support for people to come then it has the opposite effect. There is only one purpose to show the institution that you have popular support and to exert media pressure. When the institution sees that only 150 people support you, you are left alone. Meta and Berisha are openly showing why they are in politics today. Many ask why 80-year-old Berisha doesn't leave, why Meta doesn't leave. They get the answer in one sentence: Meta and Berisha stayed in politics because they could not be free citizens.
They need politics as immunity from the problems they have. Often in Albania they call resignation a weakness. In the west is the most powerful act.
