"Berisha is powerless and with the same voice as he has for 30 years," says lawyer Spartak Ngjela. During a live broadcast with "Today Live in Albania" where he was asked about Berisha's violent protests, he said that there are only 600 people and that he is getting tired without achieving anything.
"It's Saliu's theory. This has been Saliu for 30 years. Why, this is how politics is done? As long as Saliu is around, there can be no clean state, in the sense of political theories. These will be, it falls here, it falls there. There is a protest, 600 people go, they shout here and there, but there is no power, they get tired in vain", said Ngjela.
He criticized the opposition for its lack of vision: "They have no ideas. It's not an opposition, it's a crowd of brainless people. They gather there, they want to block parliament, and as communists, they are very old. They are not even modern communists."
As for the number of participants in the protests, which Ngjela underlined were not published, he said that "the DP is far below the polls, below 30%."
The lawyer does not see these protests as something fruitful for national development, and this is even the reason for Rama's silence, as it is clear to him that the opposition has no program.
"Old fashion. It's not protests that bring people out, it's ideas. Why does word salad sell a novel? Ideas sell. Even politics. Why, word salad will mobilize Albanian society? You have to have ideas for national development. Rama doesn't speak at all because he sees that these people have no program at all," said Ngjela.
As for their outcome, Ngjela said that these protests cannot make the prime minister 'non grata'.
"He cannot be the prime minister of Albania. A persona non grata in Albania cannot become prime minister because Albania becomes non grata. He has blocked the DP, he has brought a one-party state to Albania," he said.
Regarding recent developments in Kosovo where President Vjosa Osmani dissolved parliament, leading the country towards early elections, Ngjela believes that this is within constitutional norms.
"They are not staging an uprising. It is normal, they do not have the majority, they will leave, they will hold new elections," he said.
As for the war in Iran and its threat to Albania due to the presence of some Iranian opposition figures in the country, the lawyer's words seem almost like a warning.
"What protects Albania is that it is a member of NATO. To strike Albania, you have to be careful that you strike NATO. Whoever strikes it will face war from NATO," concluded Ngjela.
