Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that in June the salary increase for administration employees will come into effect.
In his speech, the head of the government declared that with this increase the target of 900 euros average salary is reached.
The Prime Minister said that this will not be the end of the salary increase, but it is a significant increase for a certain period of time.
"In June, the new salary increase comes into effect. Everyone will have an increase in their salary and we will reach the announced objective that the average salary in the Albanian public sector will be 900 euros. And this is not discussed, June is the last month with this salary that you have and with the completion of all procedures, the next salary will be an increased salary. It is a very significant increase if we consider the total ," said Rama.
Rama also said that from last year to this year there are 400 million in total that have been set for human capital.
"From year to year, there are 400 million in total that have been set for human capital. Undoubtedly, more is needed, but even more will be because it is not an increase that we see as the end of a process, but it is a significant increase for a certain period of time", said Rama.
The most challenging part, the Prime Minister said, is the increase in pensions, for which he said that they will start increasing the lower pensions, since as he said, there are a number of pensioners who receive less than 150 euros per month.
"We need to look a little more at how to do even the most difficult, most challenging part which is... starting from the lowest pensions to increase support for pensioners. We have a significant number of pensioners who receive less than 150 euros. Everyone tells us, even the IMF, the World Bank and the CC, they all tell us, be careful with pensions, it's a very heavy burden" , emphasized Prime Minister Rama, among other things.
