The police revealed the serious incident this morning, where the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi was raped.
In a press conference, the head of the Tirana Police, Tonin Vocaj, said that the violence happened because of duty, related to a process that the lawyer was following.
According to him, Mangjesi has represented in court several parties in a civil process for property issues. He and his law firm have won the process at both levels, in the First Instance and in the Appeal. Then one of the families did not respect the financial obligations to the lawyer, which they had agreed on earlier. The lawyer requested the repayment of the obligations, but not only did they not give him the money, but he was brutally violated.
According to the police, the organizer of this attack and the orderer is Dritan Jani Nano, who is currently under arrest. The perpetrators of the attack are Elton Kasaj, Drivald Alia, Dorian Alia and Romario Tabaku. The latter transported the 3 perpetrators by car.
" From the actions, it appears that Sokol Mêngjeis, a lawyer by profession, was hit because of his duty. The lawyer legally represented a family that inherited a property in Tirana in a court process, a process that was won by the party the lawyer was defending. The former clients did not have agreed to pay it.
The winning party did not respect the contractual obligations it had with the law firm. Not the whole party, but some of the contractors. Like others, this branch that carried out the attack did not agree with the obligations they had signed. Following the actions, Dritan Jani Nano was accompanied, who was arrested as the organizer of this serious criminal event ," said Tonin Vocaj.
According to the police, the 4 people are in a relationship between them. One of them, more precisely Dorian Alia, surrendered to the police a little while ago, while 3 others are on the run. Vocaj said that 20,000 euros are offered to anyone who provides information that leads to their arrest.
