Lawyer Saimir Vishaj has recounted in detail his difficult battle with the disease, which he successfully overcame.
Vishaj recalled the moment that changed his life: " On April 29, my mother died and I fell into a coma. I had no worries before, I was very active, I was in perfect health and it was like a bolt from the blue. I was surprised when I was in intensive care. I spent a week in a coma and I couldn't believe my eyes ."
The lawyer told the show "This Week" on News24 that efforts to find the cause of his serious condition also took him abroad: " I tried to go to Italy, as soon as I was ready, I fell into a coma again after a few days. I told the doctors that something was wrong and they couldn't find it. I went to a clinic in Italy. I also fell into a coma on the plane when I was going and arrived there in this condition ."
He said that the causes of the disease were discovered there: " I had medical check-ups every month, but nothing worrisome. I had not had a colonoscopy. When I went to Italy, they did this and found that I had a tumor in my colon that was narrowing the liver and not producing a substance to carry to the brain. I did not trust the doctors because my mind was only on my legal work ."
Vishaj concluded by revealing that the treatment forced him to take a long break from work: " The doctor told me you're out of work for 6 months. It was a big blow, but now I'm here, stronger and grateful for my health ."
