Journalist Skënder Minxhzoi analyzed the statement of the rapporteur for Albania in the European Parliament, Isabel Santos, who from Tirana, criticized Greece and the blockade it has put in Brussels for the case of Fredi Beleri.
In an interview for the show "Real Story" on "ABC News", he said that Santos' statement was quite important and also showed that the EU is also tired of Greece's blocking decision.
" It is a very important statement in terms of the large diplomatic file that was opened with the conviction of Beler and which sees Albania and Greece opposing each other. This change of course does not come by chance. "Greece has played this quite often and it is not the first time, but apparently they are fed up with this Greek attitude in relation to what is today a united Europe and which should behave differently" , he said.
He added that Athens with these approaches is desperately aiming to advance an issue in Himare, which does not appear in the minority areas in the south of the country.
" Santos' expression is a consequence of a mature line in Europe at the highest levels, including Germany, France, Italy, but in relation to an issue, which if a small country like Albania, this is their logic, we have imposed a new justice system and this system is working and it has punished the first government of the country, now why should all this noise be made about a mayor. Why? Because the Greek state wants to advance an agenda, which does not appear either in Dropull, nor in Finic, nor in Saranda, except in Himara, which is not a defacto and de jure declared minority territory, it must necessarily be transformed into one with this long-standing pressure from official Athens. Mu looking like a man [Satnos] bored and irritated, when he said that "the world would be terrible". It was very heavy as a statement ," he said.
