Another strong summer heat wave is expected to cover many parts of the European Continent, concentrating mostly in the south of Spain and France. The heat wave will be more intense in these two regions of the Old Continent, while our territories are not expected to be affected by any extreme summer heat wave.
Even in our years we will have an increase in temperatures, but the heat is expected to be relatively strong or if we can say "completely normal for this period of time". The high intensity of heat will come from a heat dome from the western Mediterranean which has now engulfed Spain.
Temperatures have also increased in France and Germany but without extreme heat. Only southwest Spain and southern Russia are experiencing extreme heat at the moment.
The powerful storms that were present this summer have been significantly reduced and calmed down as the Atlantic fronts are concentrated further away from our territories in western and northwestern Europe.
A series of rising temperatures and the penetration of Atlantic fronts could re-ignite the atmosphere in parts of France and Germany in the coming days, bringing about passing thunderstorms with lightning and thunder.
Temperatures will gradually increase in the coming days in central Europe and the Balkans, but great heat is not expected all at once.
