The number of people experiencing mental health problems has increased recently. This is what the psychiatrist, Nikolina Bode, says, who claims that only in the district of Korça there are over 3600 people registered with the authorities.
According to the doctor, the heat has aggravated their situation by making them more aggressive and increasing the risk of crime in the family.
"Today we have more than 3,600 people with mental health cartelized, we are talking about chronic problems, without mentioning acute problems, mental health emergencies or cases that are presented to us every day in the clinic", says Nikolina Bode.
The doctor shows other factors that influence the increase in the number of people with mental health problems.
"Mental health problems are increasing and are influenced by many factors, social, economic, immigration. Especially this period, the high temperatures associated with insomnia, despite the fact that in our city, which has a cool climate, we reached the maximum in recent years this summer. This had a negative effect", added the doctor.
Nikolina Bode says that people with mental health problems can show signs of aggression, starting with the incident in Maliq where Ramiz Muçllari was killed by RENEA after the armed man refused to surrender to the law enforcement bodies, after a fight with his family members.
