Children are spending more time online than ever before.
According to UNICEF reports worldwide, every half second a child goes online.
Experts estimate that every day more than 180,000 children use the Internet for the first time, and then become regular users.
To access digital platforms, they mainly use smartphones, but also tablets and computers. Sociologists note that the addiction created by social networks in children is dangerous as they can be exposed to hate speech, violent content including messages that encourage self-harm and even suicide.
"Having spent too much time online, they can become part of cybercrime, emotional blackmail, online bullying or being teased in different groups by their peers, when it is known that for small age groups. the opinion of peers is quite decisive and important", said sociologist Entela Binjaku.
According to UNICEF data, 1 in 10 students risk addiction to video games or being bullied.
More than 1/3 of young people from 30 countries report that they have been bullied online, and as a result 1 in 5 drop out of school because of this bullying. Meanwhile, about 80% of children report that they feel threatened by sexual abuse or exploitation on the Internet.
