On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of Kosovo's independence, criminal expert Ervin Karamuço raised serious concerns about attempts at destabilization and foreign interference that, according to him, have accompanied not only developments in Kosovo, but also the judicial process in The Hague against former KLA leaders.

He initially focused on the detention of a Russian citizen and two Belarusian citizens in Drenica, whom he said were detained for preventive reasons, while details on the purpose of their stay are being kept secret by the authorities.

Then, he brought to attention another episode, which according to him took place in the premises of the Special Court in The Hague, where he claims that a Russian agent had infiltrated as an employee, with the aim of gathering information on the judicial process against former KLA leaders.

"We also have people who we detain because they do not have a proper act of what they planned, but for more preventive effects. We recently arrested a Russian and two Belarusians in Drenica. Two Belarusians who were still not known what they were doing there, it is kept secret what they were there for and what they were looking for. They were detained by the police, a police detention that is carried out and then they are transferred to other services. So, an attempt to destabilize it. While we had people arrested, detained at the Hague court, in the penitentiary facilities of these KLA fighters and high-ranking political officials, the Russians introduced an agent of theirs. Where did they introduce him? In the court, under cover as an employee, supposedly recruited with a diploma, just to receive and understand what was happening with this process from the investigation to the trial and to deliver the information in real time to the two chancelleries in Moscow and Belgrade. But thanks to the commitment of several countries, of course also the Dutch services, it became possible to discover this person and arrest him. "Look how coordinated and how serious they have taken this job to overthrow all this great glory of our common war. We have martyrs of our national war for independence and for a free and independent Kosovo. So, look what is being done," Karamuço said on the "Now" show on "Euronews Albania".

According to the expert, these developments indicate a coordinated interest in influencing or delegitimizing the war and the process of Kosovo's independence. He emphasized that the case of the persons detained in Drenica and that of a suspected Russian agent in The Hague are signals that should be taken seriously by security institutions.
