Lorent Nake returns as director of Drenova Prison, after the dismissal of Fatjon Fasho, a few days ago due to a cell phone found in the cell of the strongman of Lushnja, Laert Haxhiu.
It is learned that Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja will send today the new name of Director Nake, who resigned from this position in February 2024, after a tenure of about four months.
The reason for the dismissal of the two officials Fatjon Fasho and Sokol Kacoli was the seizure of a phone in the cell of Laert Haxhiu, a high-security prisoner considered dangerous. For the seizure of the phone, SPAK is conducting investigations by examining not only the device, but also by interacting with other authorities, as there are suspicions that the conversations of the strongman of Lushnja were signaled by wiretaps that are being conducted for another case under development.
Laert Haxhiu, extradited from Greece, is accused of being the leader of a criminal group with members who committed at least 17 serious crimes over the years in Albania, already confessed by the organization's repentant member, Artan Tafani, who is also testifying at the GJKKO.
Haxhiu was sentenced to life in prison for the 2017 Lushnja massacre, where Zamir Latifi and Jurgen Hoxha were killed and two others were injured, while the target was Xhulio Shkurti, the nephew of former gang leader Aldo Bare.
He is currently being tried for the criminal saga narrated by the repentant Tafani, in the ongoing process at the Criminal Court.
