The Ministry of Defense has announced that 3 fire outbreaks have been isolated today, in Finiq, Elbasan and Poliçan.
According to the ministry, in the Finiq Municipality, the Albanian Air Force, in cooperation with two firefighting aircraft from Greece, managed to bring the fire under control in the Shtugar mountain range and in the cross-border area.
Close coordination between the National Civil Emergency Operations Center (AKMC) and the Greek Civil Protection Agency made it possible for Greek aircraft to enter the border crossing and carry out the mission efficiently. Currently, the situation in Finiq is under control and stabilized.
Meanwhile, another aerial intervention was successfully carried out in Poliçan, where the flames were threatening forested areas inaccessible by land.
Even in Elbasan, the continuous efforts of the Regional Fire Protection Directorate, the Armed Forces, and local structures made it possible to isolate the fire, avoiding major environmental and material damage.
The Ministry has called on citizens to be careful and not to light fires during these days, when temperatures are high.
